ABOUT ME

Welcome! My name is Afshan Khan. By birth, Jordanian and Pakistani. My childhood was spent in Kuwait. We survived the Gulf War and returned to Pakistan. I got married in 2003 and moved to California with my husband and daughters in 2011.

I am an avid DIYer, crafter, party planner, and a multitasker. I enjoy interior design and organizing setups, which I’ve done several times. I keep myself busy by doing things like painting, decorating, cooking, baking, and now event planning.

Every recipe, like every kitchen, has a backstory and a creator. My interest in the culinary and event planning world began when I observed my elders preparing nutritious, traditional foods and watching their methods for improving, presenting, and sculpting the food on the plate. It was like experimenting with spices, herbs, and colorful ingredients when I imagined it on a dish. My food is described as dynamic, distinct, balanced, and epicurean. I grew up in a family that valued good food and the memories it brought, and the kitchen was always the heart of the home. Since I was a small child, I had been exposed to inventive cooking, and I fell in love with the culinary arts.

Spreading that happiness to others is success in my book because event planning is my happy spot. I think that cooking transmits energy that nourishes both the body and the soul since food is a means of communication. My top priority has always been organizing themed events and showcasing them in creative ways.

This website will provide you with an insight into the constant battle between my head and heart through thinking, recipe testing, photography, and event presentation, as well as the extraction of continental cuisine and cultural spices.
