(Afshan & her team) thank you for catering for our son’s valima. They came highly recommended but them being relatively new to the catering I was reluctant initially, despite the enthusiasm by my better half. Both Afshan and her husband spent time with us sharing information of the previous events they catered, provided us on multiple occasions the food that we were planning for our event, so we could taste the food and they took our suggestions to tweak the taste to our liking. They shared the contact information of their previous hosts who were extremely happy with them, so we decided to go with them. They came through on all their plans. Our event was at home which is on a hill and had appetizers, food , drinks/tea, desserts at 4/5 different levels and she and her staff were diligent in servicing all these areas. Food was liked by all our guests and desserts , appetizers, boba’s, burgers were equally liked. Their food/desserts table was elegant and desserts were delicious.
I am glad that we went with them as they made our event memorable for us. Thank you Tsunami of Spices, we look forward to catering our next events by you as well.

Hiring Tsunami of Spices as a vendor for my daughter’s wedding was THE best decision we made. Wedding planning can be very stressful but Afshan really came in and went above and beyond! Not only was it an amazing team, but the food, decor, and coordination were phenomenal.
We gave Afshan a theme for the wedding and her execution was flawless. It was exactly how we imagined it. Rarely have I come across decorators who will bring your ideas to life but Afshan did.
My daughter was a very happy bride who enjoyed every moment of her wedding day and for that, we are immensely grateful.
Afshan watched from set up to the food being served and was there until the end of the event to make sure everything ran smoothly. It was reassuring having her there for such a big day and relaxing for myself, mother of the bride. We catered from Afshan as well and her appetizers, main courses, and dessert were delicious. Afshan was available throughout the planning process and responded promptly without delaying any of the planning processes. She was able to handle anything we brought up.
There is no one like her in the Bay Area. If you’re looking for someone who can do it all, without a doubt, go with Tsunami of Spices. Can’t wait to book them again for my second one

Afshan was hired because she was enthusiastic and organized. We had not attended any of her functions but talked to her previous clients, and they all agreed that she would be fantastic.
So we hired her to do a very hard task. My son Valima was in a three-tiered garden. With food being served at all locations. Food was excellent
Decorations were amazing she really went out of her way with personalized banners and decor, and even built table fronts.

Afshan from Events by Tsunami did an absolutely amazing job! I want to highlight certain things she did that made my life so much easier:
She helped me put together the menu and advise on what would complement each other. She is very detail-oriented and thoughtful. All of the food was served/wrapped up or had some sort of accessories that related to the gender and theme of the event – “we can bearly wait.” I especially loved how she wrapped each chicken roll in a blue polka dot wrap and then placed it in a burlap bag – so cute!! The menu – she updated the name of each item with a baby shower twist – see pictures attached. The food and desserts – everything not only looked aesthetically pleasing but tasted amazing! Everyone enjoyed the food. Drinks – I was lucky enough that the venue had a cute cart, so we got to have our own mini chai cart in a way. Afshan made Kashmiri chai which everyone loved, along with two other drinks – even the drinks display was super cute (see attached). Questionnaire – I was actually blown away by this one. Afshan had me fill out a questionnaire about my brother and SIL’s likes and dislikes – she placed all this information on really cute display cards in frames. She also had me get personalized messages from close family members for the parents-to-be, which she had permanently scripted onto these adorable bear frames (see attached) and this was given as a gift to the mom and dad-to-be. This was quite touching and a really nice keepsake for the parents-to-be. Organization – a few days prior to the event she sent me a detailed email with everything we agreed upon (food, utensils, timing, etc.) – for an OCD person like me this was very much appreciated. The setup and take down – Afshan and her team were already halfway through the setup by the time I got there. Everything was done very efficiently, the setup was complete before guests arrived and she gave me a walkthrough of everything. The takedown was also done very well by her team. I honestly have no complaints. She elevated my party with her thoughtfulness, kept my stress levels low, and just executed beautifully! If you are wanting a very well-thought-out event – HIRE HER!!

Tsunami of Spices catered and set up for my sister-in-law’s baby shower. From beginning to end, it was a great experience. Afshan was extremely responsive and easy to work with when planning the menu and set-up decor. I just gave her the theme/color scheme and she took it from there, paying amazing attention to every detail. It was a pleasure working with her.
The morning of the event, the Tsunami of Spices team was on time and did the entire set up seamlessly. I didn’t have to do anything—in fact, they helped me with set up that was not part of the catering! The decor was beautiful and the little details were completely tailored to the theme. My sister-in-law was so happy.
Finally, and most importantly, the food was delicious! The spinach artichoke dip and dynamite chicken were my favorites, but everything was tasty.
Tsunami of Spices truly exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend them for catering if you are looking for something extra special.

We had a small gathering to celebrate our son’s graduation with his friends last weekend. Food was catered by Tsunami of Spices and once more they proved to be the best caterers in the bay area. From menu selection to serving the food, each and every step along the way, it was very professional, helpful and smooth. Everything was beyond our expectations. Food quality was amazing and there was ample food to go around. Taste and display decor were outstanding.
We highly recommend everyone to try their desi cuisine, authentic biryani, flavourful hunzai kabab, hara masala chicken, creamy palak paneer and steam roast.
We were so relaxed and truly enjoyed our own party which normally you don’t due to constant struggle with the food. That was not the case here. Everything was managed well leaving us with enough time to entertain our guests

We liked their menu, presentations, and decorations from the pictures. They exceeded all my expectations and went above and beyond during my event. We thank Afshan and the team for this wonderful experience.
Events by Tsunami of Spices catered to our daughter’s first birthday party on September 17, 2022. Their food was scrumptious, from appetizers to desserts, and the presentation was top-notch. Afshan listened to what we wanted and how we wanted and suggested choosing the correct menu, and delivered accordingly. Afshan managed her team very well, kept everything warm, and made fresh and hot kebabs on the spot. The Kebabs and the Zafrani pulao were a big hit.
She went even further and gave us a beautiful tribute by presenting my daughter’s newborn photos, pictures of ours, and grandparents and framed their good wishes notes, and displayed them on a table.
Overall, our guests were delighted and raved about how delicious the food was. You will not be disappointed if you choose Events by Tsunami of Spices for your next event.
